Client: Team I Hate Cancer
Agency: VGCA

Post-Production: Remedy

They’re a cancer-hating wrecking crew dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer-fighting causes. Instantly we knew this was a perfect match to do something special!

Pretty frequently we’re approached by agencies that have a hard drive of footage captured for a project, but need a vision for how to wrap that all together into an impactful final piece. After taking some time to talk through ideas internally as a team, we present some ideas and options and let the agency or client be the curator and decision-maker, and we jump in from there!

For this one, the idea was to have a slightly vintage aesthetic that would pair well with the overt messaging style the group had previously leaned into – really leaning into the “hate” and having fun with it. There’s some inspiration from all over the place to be found in the final piece, from different still portrait and landscape photographers, to Wes Anderson films, and of course a bit of Inglorious Basterds there for the Voice-Over. The goal was to do everything we could to level up the visuals that were captured through an edit that found common threads between shots as well as keeping viewers watching and listening well past what they’d typically clock in at for any other “guys riding bikes” commercial.

It was an ideal sky’s the limit kind of project with a great team to work with and the campaign was a big success. So check it out!
