Using art as a vehicle for leadership, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, CAM Raleigh develops student leaders through their unique Docent Program.

After working extensively with CAM Raleigh in the past, we were excited to create a new film that focused specifically on one of their distinguishing initiatives—the Docent Program. The idea was to shine the spotlight on a particular student who was thriving as a result of the program and show the impact the docents were having on the community. As we set out to make the film, we discovered just how much thought and intention the museum puts into everything—be it the activities they facilitate, the people they introduce the students to, and the responsibility they give to each of the docents. For those of you who have encountered one of the docents during an opening exhibition, you know how integral these students are to the fabric of CAM. The film premiered during the museum’s annual Arthouse fundraising event in May 2015.

PREVIOUS WORK FOR CAM RALEIGH

Hoping to spark new thinking by creating ever-changing experiences that explore what’s now and nearing, CAM Raleigh Seeks to curate the most contemporary works of art and design possible—those still emerging, growing, and living. What an exhilarating and fulfilling project to work on! We were approached by the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh to create a film that explored the museum’s broad influence throughout their community. The result—a powerful visual narrative that helped CAM articulate its personality and purpose. We spent countless hours with influential members of the city gaining perspective into what CAM Raleigh has done, is doing, and is looking to accomplish in the future. The piece serves as a valuable tool in helping the community understand CAM's vision and purpose. The film premiered during the museum’s annual Arthouse fundraising event in May 2014. — Directed by Remedy Produced by Remedy & CAM Raleigh Shot & Edited by Remedy — Appearances by Mitchell Silver, city planner of NYC Jim Goodmon, chairman & CEO of Capital Broadcasting Company Vansana Nolintha, co-owner of Bida Manda Laotian restaurant Steve Schuster, architect/principal at Clearscapes Thomas Sayre, artist/principal at Clearscapes Marjorie Hodges, director of Contemporary Art Foundation of CAM Raleigh Gab Smith, executive director of CAM Raleigh The honorable Nancy McFarlane, mayor of Raleigh Joan Certa-Moore, educator at Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School Charman Driver, chair of CAM Raleigh Board of Directors Jordyn Brautman, fifth-grade docent — Music licensed through http://themusicbed.com — http://camraleigh.org http://workbyremedy.co
